Kingfishers are bright coloured small to medium-sized birds with large head, long strong beak and short legs and stubby tails. Kingfisher’s are basically single family birds. Their flights are strong and direct and often just above the water surface. Usually they are fish eaters but tadpoles & invertebrates are also part of their food-habits. They watch very intently on their prey before plunging. They are largely found in Asia, Australia. Different species of Kingfishers are found across the globe. Kingfishers are generally located near rivers, lakes, and isolated wetlands.
