My Journey back to Himalayas – Ghandruk-Ghorepani-Poonhill Trek

Langtang Valley Trek – An Account of My Experiences!

‘The Mountains are calling, and I must go.’ – John Muir I don’t know how to start writing this article. So many words, so many lines, so many unshared feelings jumbled up in my mind all at a time. Don’t know how to line up them properly and how can I make my experiences to be your experiences. Coming back from Annapurna Foothills trekking on 2012, I decided to go for another trekking trip. …it’s a new life, a bold life, a free life!

One fine morning I realized that I have lost everything. I cried on my loss, I pitied myself; I looked for sympathy from others. I felt myself insecured and badly unprotected. But then suddenly I realized that now I have the opportunity to start afresh. I considered it as a blessing. I stood up, I started crawling with entirely wretched heart and I started moving slowly for a new life, for a new beginning. I accepted my new life and…

A Journey to the Himalayas – Annapurna Foothills Trek, My First Ever

It has been long that I am not writing anything for my blog. Well various reasons contributed to that and I would not say those are mere excuses. Actually I was busy handling other issues which prevented me from writing anything for a long time. Like earlier, this time also I will concentrate on writing my latest travel experiences. I would rather say I will pen down my first ever Himalayan trekking experience during the last week of December 2012.…

Gangotri – seat of the goddess Ganga

Gangotri remains closed due to snow in the winter. The last ritual/puja is performed on Diwali, which occurs either during late october or in early November. It opens mid-April every year the auspicious day of Akshaya Tritiya. This is not only applicable to Gangotri but to all the four dhams (char dham to the initiated traveler) – Yamunatri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath. Gaumukh, which is the origin of the Ganga, is a glacier. It is situated at a distance of…

A Trip to Uttarakhand Visiting Munsiyari

After the overwhelming experiences at Vijaypur our next day trip was planned for Munsiyari. We had our breakfast and started around 8:30 am for Munsiyari. I was bit upset for leaving Vijaypur; we missed the excellent view of royal Himalayas behind clouds. We left Vijaypur with more expectations for Munsiyari. From Vijaypur to Munsiyari its a 6-7 hrs journey and Munsiyari is at higher altitude than Vijaypur and situated at greater Himalayan range. Within minutes we started feeling the chilly…
